STAHL Backup Cameras and Mounting Kits Are Designed to Help Service Trucks Meet FMVSS 111 Rear Visibility Requirements

Backup Camera KitsWooster, Ohio (May 1, 2018) – On May 1, 2018, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 111 went into effect, which includes new requirements for backup cameras on all vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) under 10,000 lbs., including ¾-ton pickup trucks. To assist with FMVSS 111 compliance, STAHL, a Scott Fetzer Company, offers backup cameras and backup camera mounting kits for Ford, GM and RAM trucks.

“Because our backup camera kits integrate seamlessly with OEM factory-installed video display screens, they provide an excellent backup camera option without adding another video screen inside the vehicle,” said Craig Moses, STAHL’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

STAHL service truck backup cameras with mounting bracket kits may be purchased as loose kits or installed. Mounting bracket kits may also be purchased separately. If the vehicle tailgate is removed to accommodate a liftgate, the backup camera kit should be ordered from the liftgate manufacturer.

To ensure compliance, rear vision systems must be tested to verify field of view. A FMVSS 111 Field of View Conformity Manual and Kit are available from NTEA, the national association for the work truck industry, at ntea.com/mvss111rearvisibility.
